Happy 90th Birthday PawPaw!

This past weekend, our little Cruthirds family took a trip down to Kerrville to spend time with the BIG Cruthirds family to celebrate PawPaw's 90th birthday! The Cruthirds Family is quite a large family and we always have a great time when we all get together.
Paw Paw and Grandma (who passed away last year) had 7 children. L-R: Richard (Pierson's Pop/Ryan's dad), Marsha, Debbie, Paw Paw, Cyndi, Stephen and Candy. Not pictured is Uncle Les, who has also passed away. From here......

those 7 got married and had their own children...

and then those children got married....

and had their own kids which has gotten the Cruthirds family to the magnificent size that it is! Obviously this family is still growing and at a rapid pace. Every time we are able to all get together, there seems to be atleast one new baby making their debut.

Here is our part of the Cruthirds family.Cody (Ryan's brother) and his wife Gretchen, Richard and Nina (Pop and Lita), me and Pierson and Drew (Ryan's youngest brother).

Our little family seems so small compared to the rest of the group! Of course, Pierson doesn't want to have anything to do with family pics right now.

Eating some of the FANTASTIC food that Pop and Uncle Cody cooked!

Ryan and Cody being silly with Lita

Checking out the newest cousin, Benjamin.

Brooke, Kasey and Gracelyn made sure Pierson already felt part of the crew!

Adelaide was such a little helper making sure Pierson was walking up the hill safely.

Pierson loved getting attention from her cousins. Cousin Megan was pretty good at entertaining the little princess who didn't have her nap yet :)

Pierson also loved getting passed around to all of "aunts". Here she is with Aunt Candy.

and then Aunt Marsha (who later was able to finally get Pierson to take a little siesta)

She always has a good laugh with her Uncle Cody

Looking at the beautiful hill country where her daddy grew up

Uncle Drew and cousin Rachel sporting the family shirts for the event

On Sunday, before we had to head back to Waco, Pierson was able to spend some quality time with the family at the house.

She was having such a wonderful time with her Lita and Uncle Drew

Lita trying to squeeze in just a little bit more time with Pierson

And Pop walking little P out to the car and making sure she got in one last hug before getting in the car. Pierson did great the entire weekend and had so much fun with ALL the family. The weather was wonderful and what special memories we were able to make. Happy 90th Paw Paw!

Spring Break Fun!

Although Spring Break really doesn't mean much to us, we got to meet up with some of my family who did have Spring Break at the Dallas Aquarium. Dallas is a half-way meeting point between Longview and Waco so it was a nice day trip for us to have something new to do and also get to see family!

Trying to get to her Nana behind the camera

Me and Pierson with my sis, Kelly and my niece Maddie. Not the best pic of Pierson and Maddie but this was the best we could get of all four of us.

She left her prints on any tank she could get her hands on.

Pierson always wants to see what cousin Maddie is doing.

She thought she would give the fishies a little kiss

Pierson's favorite, the monkey!

Before heading back home, we had a nice lunch downtown where Pierson carb loaded like she was about to run a marathon! That girl ate the heck out of some garlic bread :)

The "Big" Party (part 2)

Well the "big" party happened on Saturday March 13th from 5:00-6:30 at our house. "Our Little Cupcake" was the theme so I tried to incorporate that throughout her party. I must say, I had a little too much fun planning her party. I can only imagine what I will be like when I know she will actually remember what happened at her party :) Here are some pics of the decor....
Started off with a wonderful birthday banner made by one of my college friends, Ashleigh Hansberger (http://www.signsofthetimesbyashleigh.blogspot.com/ )

Pierson's birthday banner that I had so much fun making!

Pierson's friends were able to write her little birthday notes when they came in and pick up their party favors for the evening. Every little tot had a personalized muffin tin for their food, a disposable sippy cup and party hat (although I wasn't really expecting them to last very long).

The birthday girl got a little extra flare added to her party hat :)

Picture showcase of the birthday princess!

Little tot food to the left to fill up their muffin tins and "grown up" food to the right. Yummy strawberry cupcakes for all!

The ball pit station was a big hit!

Pierson, Hudson and Brooks are best of friends and were having a great time playing.

Some of the daddy's took the kiddos for some wagon rides

Pierson and Hudson taking a nice "supervised" ride in the yard :)

It was such a beautiful day, I set out blankets in the yard for the "reading station" and the "music station" and just to play.

More play time outside.
Here are some random pics of our wonderful friends that came to help us celebrate Pierson's 1st...

Kyle, Shea and Hudson King

Seth, Sarah and Jake Thompson

Mitch and Samuel Horner

Libby and Cappy Starr

Gunner and Stacy Maness

Holly (Pierson's babysitter) and Kevin Smith

Pierson with her Nonna (Donna) and Kylie

Ricky, Cari and Mase Edison

Christie Johnson, Sarah Roberts and our youngest party-goer, Caleb Roberts.

Josh, Julia and Brooks Jurgensen

After the birthday girl had some dinner, it was time for some cake!

What a cute birthday girl!!!

Here's the cake!

The best family pic we could get of the evening :)

Pierson really wasn't into the cake this time either so she decided to give it to her friend Brodie McKenzie.

After everyone left, we let Pierson open some of her gifts and she was really tearing into them. She was exhausted so we started her bedtime routine. Usually she goes to bed without a problem, but she absolutely would not go to bed that night so she got to stay up until 10pm that night with mommy and daddy (definitely a special brithday treat). The party turned out great and Ryan and I felt so blessed to see the love that surrounded our sweet baby girl on her birthday.
